Special ONLINEPONG rules
Above the well known ESOBP-Rules, available on www.bpong.at/en/rules, we made some modifications following the BPBL-Rules to fit the needs of 1v1 ONLINEPONG Trophies, that are now also taken for 2v2 show downs:
- Use apropiate BIERPONG material, see "required material" below.
- Place your device (preferrable a laptop) in a way to picture the to be hit cups as well as at least parts of the player:
--> Make sure it is enough light for a clear view
--> video should show that your cups / the rack is arranged towards the edge of the table, having a maximum of 2cm between the edge of the table and the back cups!
--> Find your camera amd Zoom settings to eliminate filters and set video on HD (not standard setting) - Cups should not be filled with more then 3cm of water, beer, or.... (SOLOs: bottom line)
- Hidden Cups remain on the table until the end of the round (2 or 3 shots).
- EXCEPTION: Re-Racks are made immidiately - also during the round
- In case you hit the same cup twice, it's just bad luck, nothing else.
- Teams are adviced do not play at the same place as long they do not live together, are close relatives or definitely dating. That's why we play online ;-)...
Seriously: Shared Connections are possible in special situations, and definitely have to be reported at least one hour before the tournament starts. Max. 2 player (1v1) or teams (2v2) are allowed to play on one table and will be drawn to the same group in the prelims. Therefore will play each other. Entering the play offs every player/team needs it's own Zoom account on a seperate device.

The Preliminary groups and single elimination play off brackets are available on our Challonge Site. Open the actual tournament to know who you play next.
c) Facebook (Messenger)
Besides the Livestream of various games our bpong.at Facebook Page will also host the reporting of the results. So after a won game please send the result per private message to bpong.at. Don't forget to mention the Group you play in. E.g.: "A - Galy vs.Stofel: 10:8".
Required material
- An official 8ft. BIERPONG table, brand, design and origin are no issue ;-)
- Enough SOLO Cups. Right now we are offering blue AND red original SOLO Cups in our MiG Shop, but of course you can also play with any other non-transparent 16oz cups of your choice.
- Racks are not obligatory.
- A minimum of 3 balls (so that you do not have to run around the tbale after every shot - see rules)
- a laptop with a working camera and mikrophone and - of course: Zoom. Yes it also works with smartphones, tablets or Desktops with webcams, but we recomend laptops or screenings on your TV.
Tournament mode and rundown
- On gameday the Zoom meeting will open no later then 6.30pm, easily entered by you:

Please rename your Zoom profile following this scheme:
-> 1v1: NICKname(_Forename)
-> 2v2: TEAMname_NICKname - The earlier you enter the meeting the earlier we can start to assign you to your groups and the higher is the chance to start in time. Before we send you off to your groups we will have a short welcome speach and a Q&A session, just in case your friends where too lazy to read all of that ;-).
- Open the actual tournament on Challonge.com to find your groups' schedule and your next oponent.
- We will now sent you to special rooms named after your group, e.g. Gruppe A, Gruppe B, etc., in which you will play all games of the group stage.
- PRELIMS: Groups of 5 Players/Teams
- Within your group you play independently one game after the other. So there is always only one game running. Please observe the other groups on challonge and try to keep the same pace.
- Those Teams/Players not in the game please switch off your camera. Players now can set the galery-view and deactivate users without video set on and can follow their oponents' shots.
- After the game the winning party has to send the exact result including the group letter via Facebook Messenger to bpong.at. E.g.: A - MiG 9 : 10 Queenie
Overtimes will be worth a 10:9 - in case of any problems, questions or the need of a ref please stay in your room and use the Help Call button to send us a note. We will hurry to come to your room, but kindly ask for some patience, we are no magicians.
- We will be circling with the bpong.at Team account through your groups. MiG Events will be the official host.
- Several groups will be alternatively called back to the main room to be featured on the livestream. As you get asked to retourn to the main room this is valid for all members of the group. You can easily switch by using the "Breakoutsession" button in your zoom window. Playing on the livestream means that millions of people can see you shoting and hear what you say. Behave ;-).
- After the prelims we call you all back to the main room and announce furhter action. After a view minutes to recheck all results, we will assign you to breakout sessions again within an appr. 20min break. Please stay - or let your device stay - in the meeting so we can do our work. Thank you.
- PLAY OFFS: Single Elimination of course, a classic K.O.-System
- During play offs STAY IN your breakout session until told to leave, so you will be sent to other rooms automatically and do not have to wonder how to get back to you
- All Championship games will be played best of 3! Who ever wins two games first, is the new Champ.
- In general: please pay attaniton to announcements and use the helping websides such as Challonge and Facebook. For communication to us stay in zoom or the fb messenger. Our private WhatsApp, Facebook or any other shit will not be checked during the tournament.
Be fair to your oponents, report your results and have fun getting your balls wet!
