Actually we are assessing and debating the situation, governmental requirements and ethical behaviour to find out how to progress this event. It is rather obvious that the last one standing tournament mode is a worst case szenario dealing with CoVid-19 prevention. We do not expect anybody who is infected to come to the ASOBP weekend, but you never know and the avarage ponger is in an age and health condition to might not even feel anything but still be a superspreader. Therefore the risk of a viral chain reaction in a tournament with so many different partners closed up on a beer pong table is quite enourmous and we do only two possibilities - okay, honestly there are three - to keep this side event alive:
- LOS tournament with a general liabilty to wear a mask over mouth AND nose, also during the game.
- No LOS but a Random Partner tournament with the draw at least one day prior. Therefore we could declare the randomly created teams as a peer group - such as the "normal" teams - and therefore allow to play without a mask. Sounds great, but let's be honest, this is also no clean solution. This random peer groups are not travelling together and sharing hotel rooms, but though do this with their next day pong partners.
- (Cancellation of LOS and the one.on.one tournaments played in the evening)
Prior to the ASOBP – Austrian Series of BIERPONG Main Event we celebrate a pongastic Party with the perfektr get-to-know- and Communityevent - A tournament in the Last Man Standing Mode:
Sign Up as a single player and pong every game with another random partner against an as well newly combined other team! Everybody starts with three lifes. Everytime you lose, you lose a life. Out of life - out of tournament. The last one standing at the table crowned as the Champion and get's the check!
Therefore the tournament mode is easy and clear, and thereis alo plenty to win:
10,- Euros of each entry ends up in the prize pool. The pot will be spread as follows:
- Champion - Last One Standing: 50%
- Runner Up: 20%
- Last Lady Standing: 15%
- Last Austrian Standing: 15%
Upon that there will be nonmonetary prizes for 3. and 4. positioned players, best locals, oldies etc.
