ESOBP V Road to Vaduz ONLINEPONG Weekend - All Results

With four planned and one little spontanous tournaments the ESOBP V Road to Vaduz ONLINEPONG Weekend is in the books! All over we have a clear player of the Weekend and for a first time it's a Miss ESOBP - LeaSal! With two titles on one day Lea stepped finally and definitely out of haslers shadow and collected both, most points and most cash, ahead of all men! Congrats and Chapau!

Before having a chronichal look to all awarded players, here are the top five all over:
TOP 5 earned cash collected points
1 LeaSal (146,-) LeaSal (64)
2 hasler (118,-) Robi (54)
3 Ivke (112,-) hasler (51)
4 Robi (100,50)
BPB Gentleman Jack (48)
5 Michl! (99,-) Mr. Bauch (46)

Fun Fact: with his two third places (Men's 1v1 & LOS) Michl! of the BPC Franken not only earned some money, but also will start the ESOBP V Weekend in a bit less then a year with a 40,- Euro bar tab, worth not less then 20 shots of Wiener Grant or our famous Ponganana! So better find him i Vaduz ;-)!

LOS - Last One Standing
A championship game we will never forget. Since the last four players stepped to the table(s) with one live each, head ref Dave! announced to play a real best of 3 fial match between the now as a team winning players. Off the norm of the Last One Standing system, but a great move to create some historic pong. Robi and Mr. Bauch defeated Michl! and Wilde Würfe and set up to crown the champ between them. And all bets went to Robi, latest as he bombed a perfect game in the second set, leaving Mr. Bauch behind with 6 cups to go for a deciding 3rd set. Well... Mr. Bauch made all 6 and won set 2 in 4th OT. In game thre Mr. Bauch of BPC Franken was then close to a perfect and gave Robi of the 1. BPC Allgäu/Bodensee no chance. For us the comeback of ONLINEPONG history!
All awarded players:
  • 🥇 CHAMP: Mr. Bauch, GER - € 86,- (40%) & ESOBP V Side Event of Choice*
  • 🥈 2. place: Robi, GER - € 64,50 (30%) & ESOBP V Side Event of Choice*
  • 🥉 3. place: Michl!, GER - € 43,- (20%) & 20,- bar tab at the ESOBP**
  • 🏅 4. place: Wilde Würfe, GER - € 21,50 (10%) & 10,- bar tab at the ESOBP**

MEN's 1v1 no OT
The experiment to play without any overtime, to find a winner by a hidden not a missed cup, to just try something new, brought us an exciting tournament and some - mixed up - feedback! Of course we would be thankful and happy to receive even more feedback, so write us what you think about, whether you liked it or not! What we experienced is much mor "fear of winning", hands shaking to shot the last cup on the one hand and a early "giving up" on the other hand, since you do not believe in a come back as you are 3/4/5 : 1 behind. Combined those two in the end created some comebacks and in the end closer decisions as it looked like a few moments before. In the end the favorites stepped up, the biggest surpriye may was that hasler "only" finnished 4th:
  • 🥇 CHAMP: Ivke, SRB - € 112,- (40%) & ESOBP V Mens' 1v1 ticket***
  • 🥈 2. place: BPB Gentleman Jack, GER - € 84 (30%) & ESOBP V Mens' 1v1 ticket***
  • 🥉 3. place: Michl!, GER - € 56,- (20%) & 20,- bar tab at the ESOBP**
  • 🏅 4. place: hasler, GER - € 28,- (10%) & 10,- bar tab at the ESOBP**

LADIES' 1v1 no OT
Talking about favorites and a ladies 1v1 tournament creates a short list: LeaSal. Point. And the BP Rieberg top player made it even easy and denied the thought that favoirte-wins are the most difficult. Already in the prelims she set a statement by defeating the leading women in the lifetime ranking, Ella, by 10:2, 10:4. Ella was the only non-german participant and could just not inhibit an all German podium:
  • 🥇 CHAMP: LeaSal, GER - € 56,- (40%) & ESOBP V Ladies 1v1 ticket***
  • 🥈 2. place: Cassy, GER - € 42 (30%) & ESOBP V Ladies 1v1 ticket***
  • 🥉 3. place: Ella, AUT - € 28,- (20%) & 20,- Euro bar tab at the ESOBP**
  • 🏅 4. place: Nataly, GER - € 14,- (10% bpong.at voucher) & 10,- bar tab at the ESOBP**

ESOBP V ONLINEPONG Qualifyer
As well as all other tournaments this weekend also the main event was - slightly surprisingly - totally booked out. 50 teams with players from 8 nations found their way to the MiG Events Zoom Meeting Room and played for a total of € 450,- of prize money and a weekend ticket for the ESOBP V Weekend in Vaduz. After the - very surprisingly - slowest prelims in ONLINEPONG history, the second consensus to the other tournaments got clear: There were no really big surprises within the top ranks:
You counted four tournaments so far and we talked about five? Well, there was a spontanous idea from SidWil picked up to send all pongers who ended up on the waiting list for the MEN's 1v1 tournament to a special room and create a double elimination bracket for them. SidWil offered to also care about the results and officially reported himself as the winner. Thank you and congrats dear Sidney! A brand new Zipfer wrist watch is on the way to SidWil, so he will never ever have an excuse again to miss the opening of a tournament-registration ;-)!

Finally we want to thank all participants and helping hands for the great pongastic weekend! We hope to see all of you guys as soon as possible at the next live events or at the bpong.at ONLINEPONG series!

Pongalong and get your balls wet!
